How To Archive Apps On Google PlayStore?
To enable the automatic archiving of infrequently used apps on Google PlayStore, which helps save space on your Android device, follow these steps:
- Open the Play Store app.
- Tap on your profile picture.
- Select Settings.
- Find the "Automatically archive apps" option under the "General" section.
- Turn the toggle switch on to enable auto-archiving.
This feature will remove approximate 60% of an unused app's data from your device, leaving your personal data intact. Archived apps will have a small cloud icon next to them, and you can reinstall them when needed. The feature was first introduced in April 2023 and requires developers to use App Bundle for their apps.
If you need to manually check for unused apps, go to Settings > Apps > Unused apps on your device.
