How To Connect AirTags With Android And iPhone?

To connect and use Apple AirTags with an Android device, follow these steps:

Using an Android Phone:

  1. NFC Scanning: Every AirTag has an NFC chip, which can be read by Android devices with NFC capabilities. To scan an AirTag, place it near the back of your Android phone. Once scanned, you'll receive a web link or your phone's browser will open with information about the AirTag.

  2. Tracker Detect App: Apple has released an Android app called Tracker Detect, which allows you to scan for nearby AirTags and other item trackers. Download the Tracker Detect app from the Google Play Store.

  3. Find Lost AirTags: If you find a lost AirTag, you can scan it using your Android phone's NFC or the Tracker Detect app. If the AirTag is marked as lost, you'll see instructions on how to contact the owner and return the item. If the AirTag is not marked as lost, you'll be guided to remove the battery to disable it.

Please note that you cannot fully manage or track AirTags with Android devices like you would with Apple's Find My app on iOS devices.

Using a Web Browser (iCloud.com):

While it's not possible to track AirTags directly using iCloud.com on any device without an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can view their approximate location within a few feet if they have been set up with your Apple ID. However, this method does not support Precision Finding, which requires an iPhone.
