How To Enable Google Chrome Dark Mode On Android And iPhone?

To enable Google Chrome dark mode on Android and iPhone (iOS), follow these steps:

Android

  1. Open the Chrome app on your Android device.
  2. Tap the three-dotted menu icon at the top right, and go to Settings.
  3. Choose the 'Theme' option.
  4. Select either 'System Default' (to sync with systemwide theme), 'Dark' if you want a persistent dark theme, or 'Light' to use the light theme.

If you also want the web content to appear in dark mode, you'll need to use Chrome Flags:

  1. Open Chrome, type chrome://flags in the address bar, and press Enter.
  2. Search for "dark mode" and enable the 'Android web contents dark mode' flag.
  3. Relaunch the Chrome app when prompted.

iPhone (iOS)

  1. Enable system-wide dark mode on your iPhone by going to Settings > Display & Brightness > Dark.
  2. Open Chrome app. Since the Chrome app on iOS uses the system-wide appearance, it will now be in dark mode.

Please note that on iOS, a pure Chrome-based dark mode control is not available; the theme switches with the system setting. If you're on iOS 13 or later, you can use the Control Center to quickly toggle dark mode by holding down the Brightness indicator and then selecting Dark for Appearance.
