How To Make Google Maps 3D?
To make Google Maps 3D on a desktop, follow these steps:
- Open your preferred web browser, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
- Navigate to the official Google Maps website.
- Locate the "Layers" icon at the bottom left of the map.
- Click "More."
- Select "Satellite," ensuring the "Globe view" checkbox is checked.
- Click the "3D" button at the bottom right of the map screen.
For a full 3D view, hold down the Ctrl
key while moving your mouse to rotate and tilt the map. To revert to a 2D view, click the "2D" button. Remember to enable hardware acceleration in your browser if necessary; for instance, in Chrome, go to Settings > Advanced > System and enable the "Use hardware acceleration when available" option.
On a mobile device, the process is slightly different due to limited capabilities:
- Launch the Google Maps app on your Android phone or iPhone.
- Tap the "Map Type" icon.
- Directly tap on "3D" to get a 3D view.
Please note that the 3D view on mobile devices might not be as immersive as the desktop version.
If you prefer a more comprehensive 3D experience on a mobile device, consider installing and using the Google Earth app instead:
- Install and launch the Google Earth app for iOS or Android.
- Tap on the Search icon.
- Type in the location you want to view and select the relevant result.
- Tap on "3D" if the view is not already in 3D.
- Your view will now be in 3D.
Keep in mind that not all areas in Google Maps support 3D view, and 3D imagery is graphics-intensive, so a capable device and a web browser with WebGL support are recommended.
