How To Send Email As A File Attachment On Gmail?
To send an email as a file attachment on Gmail, you can follow these steps:
Forwarding an Existing Email as an Attachment:
- On your computer, go to Gmail.
- Select the emails you want to attach.
- Click the three-dot menu (More) and then "Forward as attachment."
- In the "To" field, add recipients. You can also add recipients in the "Cc" and "Bcc" fields.
- Add a subject and a message (optional).
- At the bottom, click "Send."
- Note: You can also right-click on a message or drag and drop the file into the body of your message to forward as an attachment.
Reply with an Attached Email:
- On your computer, go to Gmail.
- Open the email you want to reply to.
- Click the email's "Pop out" icon in the top right corner.
- From your inbox, select the email you want to attach.
- Drag the email into your message.
- At the bottom, click "Send".
Directly Attaching a File (usually for attachments that are not emails):
- On your computer, go to Gmail.
- Click "Compose."
- At the bottom, click "Attach" (paper clip icon).
- Choose the files you want to upload.
- Click "Open."
- You can also drag and drop files from your computer into the message body.
Please note that Gmail attachments have a size limit of 25 MB for individual files and the entire email when more than one attachment is included. If your file exceeds this limit, Gmail automatically adds a Google Drive link in the email.
Confidential Mode allows you to set an expiration date and passcode, though this option is only available if your admin permits it in Gmail with a work or school account.
Always remember to ensure your email application is up-to-date, and if necessary, contact your network administrator or ISP to ensure no blocks are preventing you from attaching files via email.
