How To Use Calendars On Microsoft Teams?

To use calendars on Microsoft Teams, follow these steps:

  1. Community Calendars (Mobile App)

    • Tap the Home tab in the Teams app.
    • Select the community you want to view.
    • Tap Events at the top of the screen.
    • Tap the event you want to add to your device calendar.
    • To add to your device's calendar, tap Add to calendar.
  2. Create a Community Event (Mobile App)

    • Tap the Home tab in the Teams app.
    • Select the community you want to schedule an event in.
    • Tap Events at the top of the screen.
    • Tap the Schedule group event button or add a picture to your event.
    • Set the event's length or choose All day.
    • Make it easier to find and add a relevant Location, or use your current location.
  3. View Personal Calendar (Desktop App)

    • Select Calendar on the left side of the Teams app.
    • Switch between day, work week, or full week views in the top right corner.
    • Change dates using the month and year selector in the top left corner.
    • Details of meetings will include Join, Calling Details, Participant Chat, RSVP, and Cancel options (if you are the organizer).
  4. Create a Shared Channel Calendar (Desktop App)

    • Select Add a tab at the top of a channel.
    • Choose Channel calendar or search for it.
    • Give the calendar a name and select Add.
    • Open the event and select Add to calendar to add events to your personal calendar.

Community and Channel Calendar Notes

  • Event notifications might not be displayed in your personal Teams calendar unless you have an email address associated with your Microsoft account.
  • Scheduling and viewing channel events is available in the Teams app only.
