How To Use FaceTime Live Photos On iPhone?

To use FaceTime Live Photos on your iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure both participants have iOS 12.1.4 or later, or iPadOS installed. Earlier versions may not support all features of FaceTime Live Photos.
  2. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  3. Scroll down and select "FaceTime."
  4. Make sure the toggle for "FaceTime Live Photos" is switched on.

Now, during a FaceTime call:

  • For a one-on-one call: Tap the screen, then tap and hold the white shutter button to capture a Live Photo; for a regular still photo, simply tap the shutter button once.
  • For Group FaceTime calls: Tap the tile of the person you want to photograph, then tap the Full Screen button followed by the Take Live Photo button.

Both parties will receive a notification indicating that a photo has been taken, and the Live Photos will be saved in your Photos app. If you cannot find the photos after taking them, check under the 'Recents' album in the Photos app; sometimes there might be a delay before they appear.
