WhatsApp: How To Send HD Photos and Videos?
To send HD photos and videos on WhatsApp, follow these steps:
Ensure you have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your Android or iOS device.
For videos and photos, follow these steps:
- In a chat thread, tap the Camera button.
- Select an image or video from your media library to send.
- Tap the HD button located at the top of the screen, left of the other image/video editing tools.
- Choose HD quality in the popup that appears, then tap Done.
- Tap the Send button.
For high-quality media management, do the following:
- Launch WhatsApp on your iPhone or Android phone.
- Tap on the three dots button on Android or Settings on iOS.
- Select Storage and Data.
- Tap on Media Upload Quality.
- Choose Best from the list of options for media upload quality.
Another workaround for high-resolution video sharing (iOS only), to avoid the temporary 2GB limit:
- In a WhatsApp conversation, tap the attachment icon (Android) or the (+) (iOS).
- Choose “Document.”
- Select the files you want to share.
- WhatsApp will send the files without compression, preserving original quality for files under 2GB.
Please note that HD video sharing in the standard way (not as a document) on WhatsApp may still apply some compression to photos sent via the HD Quality setting and cap resolution at 720p for videos.
