How To Connect A Walkie-Talkie With Apple Watch?

To connect your Apple Watch with the built-in Walkie-Talkie feature, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure your Apple Watch (Series 1 or later) runs watchOS 5.3 or later, and your iPhone runs iOS 12.4 or newer. Both devices should have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or cellular connectivity enabled.

  2. Open the Walkie-Talkie app on both devices. If the app isn't there, reinstall it from the App Store on your Apple Watch.

  3. On the first use, accept the notification to allow Walkie-Talkie notifications on the Apple Watch.

  4. Scroll through your contacts and tap the one to invite. Wait for your friend to accept the invitation.

  5. Once both parties have accepted the invitation, in the Walkie-Talkie app, tap the friend's name to start a conversation.

  6. Touch and hold the Talk button and speak. When you release the button, the audio will shift to the receiving end.

For a hands-free tap-to-talk mode, enable Tap to Talk in the Settings app on your Apple Watch or the Apple Watch app on your iPhone by going to Settings > Accessibility > Walkie-Talkie > Enable Tap to Talk. With this mode, tapping once initiates talking, and a second tap ends the transmission.

Remember, Walkie-Talkie requires FaceTime to be installed and enabled on both devices. You can double-check this on your iPhone by going to Settings > FaceTime and ensure that FaceTime is turned on.
