Pokemon GO: First Player to Reach Level 50 is Getting Death Threats
The first player to reach level 50 in Pokémon GO, known as FleeceKing, has faced death threats due to disagreements within the game's community regarding Niantic's changes to the Remote Raid Pass system. The controversial update limited the number of Remote Raids per day and raised individual purchase costs, leading to a community boycott. FleeceKing continued playing and streaming the game, which upset some players who felt the streamer should join the protest. As a result, FleeceKing received harmful messages, including suggestions to commit suicide, after purchasing a ticket for the upcoming Pokémon Go Fest.
