Pokemon Scarlet And Violet: Official Return Of Tera Raids
In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Tera Raid Battles have been introduced as a returning feature from previous games like Sword & Shield, replacing the Max Raid Battles. These cooperative battles invite players to take on strong Pokémon with a unique Tera Type, varying from the Pokémon's natural type, while working with friends.
- Mechanics: Tera Raid Battles have a time limit and allow continuous attacking without waiting for each player's turn, which leads to more haste and easier battles. Rewards of various items are obtained based on the level of the raid.
- Participation: You can start a Tera Raid Battle alone or with friends, and even if your Pokémon faints, you can continue attacking until defeated or the battle ends. Other players can participate in raids even if the Pokémon caught is not in their version-exclusive species.
- Crystals: Tera Raid Battles can be found on the map as sparkling pillars of light. Standard and Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles exist, with the latter featuring more powerful and unique Pokémon that become shiny when caught. Only one Black Crystal Pokémon of each species can be caught per save file.
- Levels and Rewards: Raid Bosses have a level multiplier, and the difficulty and rewards improve with levels, ranging from 1 to 7-star battles.
- Special Events: Limited-time events can be accessed via Mystery Gift, featuring a variety of special Tera Raid Battles that sometimes offer legendary Pokémon.
- Marks: Catching Pokémon from Tera Raid Battles could result in them having a Mightiest Mark, which is a status symbol.
